P." Baker, died on Monday, April 22, 2019, at her home.Born in Ashwood, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Harris Peebles and Vernice Nesbitt Peebles. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker. She loved spending her days with her family and friends, doing the things she loved, cooking, talking and helping others. She was a charter member of Lemira Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 15.Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Hope Brunson (Ike) of Alcolu and Merri Elizabeth Floyd (Gregg), both of Sumter; four grandchildren, Ikey Brunson III (Monica) of Sumter, Brent Brunson (Katie) of Alcolu, Amy Garrett (Steve) of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Wendy Gould (Jeremy) of Sumter; seven great-grandchildren, Molly Brunson, Trent Brunson and Ethan Gould, all of Sumter, Lawson Brunson and Jackson Brunson of Alcolu and Cameron Reardon and Ava Garrett of Oklahoma; a sister, Catherine "Kitty" Kirby of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Betty Peebles and Ann Griggs, both of Sumter; also a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Peebles.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Dan Rowton and Allen Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Brunson Jr., 2755 Ike Brunson Road, Alcolu.Memorials may be made to Lemira Presbyterian Church, P.O. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00am until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery, School Street, Cassville, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.Sherry Nesbitt Bailey was born on August 7, 1960 to the late Jimmy Nesbitt and Viola Jewell Nesbitt.She was born and raised in Cassville, Georgia and attended the Bartow County School System, graduating from Cass Comprehensive High School. After graduating from high school, Sherry went on to further her education. Sherry received several degrees and her biggest accomplishment was receiving her Master’s Degree in Public Administration.Sherry relocated to Augusta, Georgia where she was employed with the City of Augusta’s Zoning and Planning Development Department. She continued to work with the city until her retirement.Sherry’s greatest joy was her family and watching the smiles on their faces when they were together. She loved helping everyone no matter what the need, this was her greatest passion.She was energetic and always smiling. Being joyfully optimistic with a kind hearted soul and always willing to lend a helping hand.Sherry leaves to cherish her memories; sons, Damieson Nesbitt and Erick Nesbitt; daughters, Tiah Ailey and Jessikah Bailey; grandchildren, Destiny, Keith, Blake, Kaela, Damieson Jr., Kory, Jacob, Myrtice and Raymond; siblings, LouAnn (Kevin) Nesbitt-Robertson, James Nesbitt, Jerome Nesbitt, Emma (Ray) Peeks, Dexter (Patricia) Nesbitt, and Norman (LaTouya) Moore; aunts, Shirley Upshaw, Julia Nesbitt and Gail Harper; uncles, J.B.
